These photographs contemplate a displaced form of the war that began with the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, and that continues, as of this writing, with the Israeli siege of Gaza.  Public spaces in Paris show the war as a palimpsest of posters put up and ripped down, messages scrawled and crossed out, passions declared and effaced.  Media and social media spaces are similar of course, except not physicalized this way.  I have my own opinions about this conflict, like anyone else.  This sequence of photographs is not about that.  I suppose it does reflect my revulsion at the deliberate and wanton murder of innocents, and my conviction that there is no such thing as selective compassion for war's victims.
